A year of investment in Lesley Cree Opticians

This month marks one year since we merged our Radcliffe on Trent Opticians practice with the Amanda Findlay practices in Keyworth and Ruddington.

Lesley Cree Director Ben Cree reflects on the changes that have been implemented over the last twelve months in order to improve the provision of eyesight and hearing care services in these local communities.

“The merger has been really successful and has delivered great improvements for both staff and existing customers as well as attracting many new customers to all three practices.

The transformation of the Keyworth and Ruddington practices started with complete makeovers of their exterior and interior to bring them in line with the Lesley Cree brand. We have completely refurbished with new signage, décor, carpets, furniture, lighting, display stands and created new staff rooms with brand new toilet facilities.”

This extensive investment also saw the introduction of a wider range of frame choices from leading eyewear brands including Oakley, Etnia, Tom Ford, Wolf Eyewear, Cutler and Gross, Ray-Ban sunglasses, and Mulberry.

We have also employed more members of staff both for front of house and Optometrists which has increased the number of eye test appointments available, giving more opportunities for existing and new customers to get their eyes tested at a time convenient to them. We are very passionate about ensuring we provide the very best care, by experts who are supported by a caring and attentive front of house team who help with booking appointments, frame choices, dispensing, frame repairs and adjustments.

As part of our commitment to get involved with the local community groups we also gave talks on eye care at local schools and Brownies, were an active part of Keyworth Show, Ruddington Christmas market and Ruddington Makers Market which is held every year. This demonstrates our dedication to our local community and the passion we have to ensure people have easy access to excellent eyecare, with top class diagnostic equipment and an extensive frame range.

Being a part of the Lesley Cree family of opticians practices has also meant that patients in Keyworth and Ruddington can also access hearing and ear wax removal services which are currently available at our Radcliffe on Trent practice. In time, we hope to be able to expand these services to all practices.

Lesley Cree Opticians in Radcliffe on Trent was also one the first in our region to invest in the Optos Eye Scanner, which combines both an OCT scan, and an ultra wide image of the retina known as an Optomap.

The Optomap high resolution image replaces the retinal camera and enables a much wider and highly magnified view of not only the central retina, but also the peripheral retina. Whereby traditional methods typically reveal only 15% of the retina at one time, the Optomap captures more than 80% of the retina in one panoramic image. This enables much earlier detection of many retinal abnormalities.

It has been a really exciting year and now that systems and processes have been more closely aligned within each practice we fully expect the Lesley Cree cultural values and reputation to continue to be warmly welcomed further within these communities as we continue to grow and invest locally.

If you have concerns about your vision or eyes, please contact us. We pride ourselves on, and earn our reputation by having very experienced staff always available to help and answer any queries or problems. We aim to help and will always try to go the extra mile.
