Lesley Cree Opticians Raises £1,260 for My Sight Nottinghamshire

We’re thrilled to announce that together, we’ve raised an incredible £1,260 for My Sight Nottinghamshire – a local charity that provides vital support to people living with sight loss across our community.

Back in October, our very own Julie, Bella, and Michelle took on a thrilling challenge – stepping off the edge (safely!) for a charity abseil in aid of My Sight. The event, organised by Dolomite Training – Peak District Outdoor Activity Provider, was an unforgettable experience filled with excitement, teamwork, and plenty of adrenaline!

Why We Chose to Support My Sight Nottinghamshire

As opticians, we see first-hand how sight loss can impact people’s lives. That’s why supporting My Sight Nottinghamshire is a cause so close to our hearts.

Every day, the charity provides life-changing services – from emotional and practical support to social activities and accessible technology – all designed to help individuals maintain their independence, confidence, and wellbeing.

Founded in 1843, My Sight Nottinghamshire (formerly the Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind) has been at the heart of the local community for over 180 years. Their dedicated team continues to make a huge difference to vision-impaired people of all ages throughout Nottinghamshire, offering everything from equipment and aids to employment advice and rehabilitation support.

Thank You for Your Support

We’d like to say a massive well done to Michelle, Julie, and Bella for their bravery, and a huge thank you to everyone who has supported our fundraising efforts so far.

Reaching £1,260 is a fantastic achievement – and every penny will go towards helping My Sight Nottinghamshire continue their incredible work.

If you’d still like to donate and help us make an even bigger impact, there’s still time! You can visit our fundraising page here:  https://gofund.me/0bfd89b1a

Thank you once again for your generosity and encouragement. Together, we’re helping to make a real difference to the lives of people living with sight loss in Nottinghamshire.
