Lesley Cree Opticians to Dine in Dark in aid of charity

Lesley Cree Opticians in Radcliffe on Trent is proud to announce that we are supporting the eye research charity “Fight for Sight’ in their latest fundraising initiative called “Feast your Eyes.” The fundraiser involves challenging your senses by organising your own dining experience in
the dark.

The fundraiser involves challenging your senses by organising your own dining experience in the dark.

Friends, business associates and customers can gather together to dine in the dark and are being asked to make a donation to fund research to prevent sight loss and treat eye disease.

Fundraising nights will be held between October 16–22 and replaces the charity’s annual Carrots NightWalk, which was launched in 2011 and raised more than £480,000 for eye research.

Lesley is hosting her own event at home and inviting the team from the practice to dine with her.

Every 5 seconds someone in the world goes blind, and millions of adults and children struggle with the effects of eye conditions. In the UK alone, 100 people start to lose their sight every day.

Since 1965 Fight for Sight has raised funds to support medical research into a wide-range of eye conditions. These include macular degeneration, glaucoma, cataract, diabetic retinopathy as well as the causes of childhood blindness. Fight for Sight also funds research into a large number of rare eye diseases. The charity is the largest in the UK dedicated to funding eye research. It receives no government funding and relies totally on fundraising events and donations.

So what are you waiting for – Host a feast in the dark and help fund a future everyone can see!
