Carnival fun

A regular feature of the village calendar is the Radcliffe Carnival which was held this year on Saturday 9 July in the grounds of Grange Hall.

As usual we decorated our shop window in the theme of the carnival taking part in the shop window competition.

We also had a Lesley Cree stand and the team was on hand to join in the fun and give advice on eye care as well as demonstrating some of the frame choices available from our fantastic range of spectacles and sunglasses.

There were some nervous organisers early in the morning as we experienced some pretty torrential rain showers whilst putting up stands, but by 11.30am the had sun come out and everyone had a great time. The carnival procession started at 1pm and weaved its way to Grange Hall where carnival goers were treated to a various displays including acrobatics, music, dancing and singing.

One of the highlights of this years show was a fly over by a spitfire aeroplane as part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

I wonder if the pilot eye spied our stand?
