Congratulations to Ruth

Our Optometrist Ruth Bennett has recently been appointed as the Deputy Lead Assessor for the College of Optometrists. She has been working as an Assessor for 6 years.

Ruth comments “Assessors for the College visit graduate optometrists in their workplace and judge how they are performing over the whole scope of their clinical practice. The graduates need to demonstrate competency and undergo exams before they can qualify to work without supervision.

We need to make sure that qualified optometrists are professional and competent. It certainly keeps me on my toes! I am delighted to be appointed to work at a senior level within the Assessment process.”

Lesley and all the team congratulate Ruth on this amazing and prestigious job, and are delighted that Ruth will also find time to continue her role as Optometrist here running the Thursday clinic. Well done Ruth !!
