Tour of Britain will showcase Oakley Cycling Glasses
Oakley cycling glasses will be in abundance as the Tour of Britain hits the Borough of Rushcliffe on Saturday September 8 for the very first time,! The Tour of Britain is the UK’s premier professional cycling event attracting many of the World’s top riders to race on British roads past world class scenery every September.
The seventh stage of the tour will start in West Bridgford and cover approximately 80kms, through 15 of the Boroughs town and villages before exiting the borough at Gunthorpe bridge and carrying on to Mansfield.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for the community of Radcliffe to cheer on the 120 top cyclists as the race will be passing through the village at approximately 11.34am. Lesley Cree Opticians will be supporting the race and village buzz by decorating the window in a biking yellow theme as many of the local shops have been urged to create a vibrant “yellow” atmosphere!
The race build-up and signing on of the riders will take place on Central Avenue in West Bridgford and the adjacent Croquet Lawn from 8.30am to the race start at 10.30am and features:
- Live music – Back Chat Brass band entertaining the crowds
- Street performers
- Family entertainment
- Opportunity to see the teams warming up and meet your cycling heroes
- Food and drink available from adjacent coffee bars and restaurants
